which shoe to pick?

i think every filipina fashionista knows it's such a pain trying to order stuff online because the shipping fee is more expensive than the price of the item. i once tried to order a $24 pair of shoes from forever 21 and the shipping fee to the Philippines is $34. so we usually wait for a friend or relative in the U.S. to come home so we can hitch a space in their 'balikbayan' (take-home) box. since my sister and her fiance have a friend in new york and they're getting a box filled to send here, i took the chance of purchasing shoes for my sister's wedding and have some pre-ordered by some of my friends. filling up the box as soon as possible could mean that i'd be rocking my new wedges earlier too.

i never thought buying shoes would be such a headache. with this chance to purchase amazing shoes online, i've spent hours checking styles, sizes, color and price. i may have bookmarked 3 out of 30 in a day only to realize that i may not need them and have to go through the process again the next day. there's just so much to choose from. i mentioned this on my shoe post last june that though i love to have lots of shoes, i always tend to buy those of the classic colors --- black, brown, camel, grey and white. to narrow down my choices, i listed down every pair i own with each corresponding color and realized that i needed grey heels after my fave one died last april. i also needed a pair of camel ones because the cutout heels gifted from harry have loosened up and are now a bit big for me. i picked out brown wedges and silver platforms for my sister's wedding and i'm now down to picking my grey and camel ones. the question is, should i purchase the on-trend clogs? or the classic booties?

G.. you look adorable! Love the outfit. :) My mom always sends lots of stuff to our family in the PI in those Balikbayan boxes. A lot of the clothes, shoes, and bags I no longer want, go to my little cousins there. :D I mom also packs in lots of new stuff as a surprise for them.

Well... hopefully one day I'll be able to go back to the PI and visit the place I was born. I haven't been there since I was 3!

I hope you're having a great weekend doll.

xx Love & Aloha

I would go with the classic booties. I just worry that trendy stuff will eventually get put away and never see the light of day. By trendy, i'm thinking runway stuff. You could have a totally different definition :) I'm sure both are tasteful as you wonderful taste! Why not both!? :)

Yeah, shipping costs are a pain. But 34 to ship to Philippines is outrageous! I think there is a F21 in the Philippines but I'm not sure if it's close to you or not.

i vote for booties too! They're a must-have like the classic black dress.

i would never order online unless it's from a local (Philippine-based) store. Not only is it stress-ridden but also very frustrating. There's a newly-opened forever 21 shop at SM Megamall...i believe just this year.
this is my most fave ensemble so far by the way. I think you are the most adorable in these pieces!

Hey lady!! I haven't been around and missed a lot of your posts, just catching up now! Forgive me!! I am loving the white tunic with the printed shorts!! so flattering with your colouring!!

Because of your pooey shipping situation I suggest going with the classic booties! just because the chances of them coming back in style is a lot greater than the clogs and it's definitely worth the investment in a classic pair of boots!! good luck babe! :)

omg i totally know what you mean - shipping fees can be seriously ridiculously. i tried to order something from urban outfitters before - but the shipping used to be something ridiculously like $60!

anyways, love this look :)

i do share your frustration about ordering stuff online :) love how you always rock your accessories!

I share the same frustration Gizelle, it is hard to buy stuff online more or less packing stuff to be shipped to Cebu...I might ask some of my friends if they need something for December for my package hahaha!!!!

I think you better go with the classic booties but the clogs is the new trend and more or less it will come back after how many years again hehehehe...:D I am just being silly...

I love your shorts hun!!!!

Oh my, I have no idea that shipping was THAT expensive. Although, come to think of it, it does make sense. My cousin recently sent a book to her friend in the Phil., and it was already $12, the book weight about a pound (at the most!)...

I'm more for boots than clogs (though I'm starting to acquire a taste for the latter)...so if it were up to me, I say booties! But I'm sure whatever you get will be fabulous!
